The Praxis Method

Engineering Success

Hope is not a strategy. True leadership requires a disciplined framework to cut through the noise.

Most strategic plans fail because they are just wish lists of ambitious goals. Real strategy is the discipline of diagnosis and choice.

I have developed The Praxis Method™—a proprietary synthesis of seminal strategic theory and multidisciplinary execution. I use it to design strategy and lead organizations through the complex realities of business, law, and public policy.

Whether I am stabilizing a state agency, navigating a merger, or advising on a high-stakes asset acquisition, the process is the same: I don’t hope or guess. I engineer a path to success.

The Methodology

1. The Forensic Diagnosis

I move beyond standard SWOT lists. I use a forensic approach to analyze the landscape and identify the ‘Crux’—the single, hidden challenge that is blocking your success. I don’t treat symptoms; I solve the root cause.

2. The Strategic Pivot

Strategy is the art of sacrifice. I identify your unique Strategic Posture—whether to go on Offense, play Defense, or Change the Game. I focus your limited resources on the pivot point where your strength creates the maximum advantage.

3. Coherent Action

No wasted motion. I translate the strategy into a Coherent Action Plan where every dollar, every hire, and every decision reinforces the others. This is the difference between being busy and being effective.

Executive Leadership Portfolio

A passion for designing strategy to bring great ideas to life

Strategic Regulatory Leadership

State Regulator. Currently overseeing Colorado’s $800 million workers’ compensation healthcare system. At the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment, I lead the regulatory architecture for 8 diverse state programs, using rigorous strategic planning to stabilize complex adaptive systems and drive policy consensus among stakeholders.

Strategic Financial Leadership

Board of Directors. As Chairman and Director, I guided On Tap Credit Union through a merger and brand differentiation strategy that resulted in doubling assets to over $400 million. I bring deep fiduciary stewardship to long-term capital planning and risk governance.

Organizational Turnaround Leadership

President of the Board. Transformed North Jeffco Swim Team (NJST), a non-profit swim club serving over 300+ families, into a professional governance body driving $1M+ in annual revenue. I professionalized staff structures and secured the organization’s long-term financial future while building a sustainable culture of engagement.

Praxis Strategy Group

Principal & Chief Strategist. I use this platform to apply the Praxis Method™ and Praxis Engine™ to high-stakes, real-world challenges—from leading non-profits on organizational turnarounds to engineering strategies for entire healthcare systems. This is my private strategic advisory lab where theory meets real-world application. I solve the ‘unsolvable’ problems facing modern organizations.

“Dan creates an environment where we are challenged to think for ourselves but held to the highest standards. He leads by example—always analyzing every avenue before a decision is made, yet remaining calm and collected even during the most stressful times.”
